About Me
Who I am...
Hello, I'm Wing Hu, a dedicated and skilled freelance translator, editor, and subtitler with over a decade of experience in the Localization/Globalization industry. Specializing in translating from English and Japanese into Chinese (Simplified, Cantonese Hong Kong, and Traditional Taiwan), I am passionate about delivering high-quality translations that bridge cultural gaps and resonate with diverse audiences.
Volunteering and Professional Development
I am also committed to giving back to the community through my volunteer work as a Chinese linguist for Translators without Borders and TED Talks. This experience has further honed my skills and deepened my understanding of cultural nuances in translation. My proficiency in subtitling tools such as Amara, Ooona, CaptionHub, Sfera, Originator, Aegisub, Localizor, and Subtitle Edit, as well as my knowledge of the Timed Text Style Guide for Netflix and Disney Plus, ensures that I can deliver top-notch services to my clients.
Education and Certifications
I hold a Certificate in Public Service Interpreting (Level 3) from Absolute Interpretation and an Award in Preparation for Work in the Community and Interpreting (Level 2) from WEA. Additionally, I have completed a Level 3 Cyber Security Practices course from Netcom Training, which has equipped me with valuable skills in content development and incident response.
Commitment to Quality
I am committed to providing accurate, confidential, and impartial translation services, ensuring that every project I undertake meets the highest standards of quality. My passion for language and dedication to my clients drive me to continuously improve my skills and deliver exceptional results.
